Game Boy

A short character animation created to practice timing, motion, and visual storytelling.

Motion Design & Animation

This project is a nostalgic exploration of retro gaming. The objective was to challenge my technical design and animation skills by building the iconic Game Boy console from scratch using shape layers, and then bringing it to life. The final piece showcases a seamless blend of UI animation on the screen, intricate button interactions, and dynamic text effects that capture the vintage gaming aesthetic.

  • 100% Native Vector Design: Created and composed the entire Game Boy console geometry directly inside After Effects using shape layers, ensuring crisp, infinitely scalable visuals.

  • Smooth Kinematic Animation: Focused on realistic button-press motions and console physics to give the digital asset a tactile, satisfying feel.
